The yogacara teachings are both practical and reassuring. They show us that insight isn't something outside of experience but a transformation of our
experience, which is in perpetual transformation like an ever flowing torrent of water
. This transformation takes place through following a path of
practice; ethics, meditation and wisdom. In fact the yogacara shows us just how these practices work and how we can turn our lives around.
Yet the teachings also have a strange, ungraspable beauty. We learn from hsuan tsang that, the covering of truth is the manifesting of truth
and that consciousness right now is both manifesting reality and concealing reality. Samsara and nirvana both hinge on the same experience and the
yogacara shows us how to make that
turning about in the deepest seat of consciousness
that comes from Insight into the nature of our experience. You can

On this meditation retreat we'll exploring our experience in the light of these teachings. We'll do this through led reflection and meditation,
poetry and film, with periods of silence.
